Welcome to Happitots Day Nursery

May we welcome you to Happitots Day Nursery, part of Complete Childcare Ltd. We have been providing childcare here since 1985.  We provide all our children with a stimulating, fun and caring environment in which they will thrive and develop their own personalities. 

There are separate, spacious and home-like rooms for each age and stage of development, from 3 months to 5 years. These are separated into: Baby Room 3m-1yr; Little Toddlers 1yr-18m; Big Toddlers 18m-2yrs; Magpies 2-3yrs and School House 3-5yrs. 

We are OFSTED inspected for the educational aspect of the nursery curriculum and have continued to receive successful inspections since they began.

Opening Hours

Happitots Day Nursery is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. 

Full-time day sessions operate between 8am and 6pm, including breakfast club, lunch and high tea. 

Part-time morning sessions operate between 8am and 1:30pm, including breakfast club and lunch. 

Part-time afternoon sessions operate between 1:30pm and 6pm, including high tea. 

Baby Room 3m – 1 Year 

The Baby Room has capacity for 9 babies of 3 months to 1 year on a ratio of care 1:3, with a Room Senior leading the team of staff. 

All toys provided are appropriate to the age and development of your baby. The Baby Room has a sliding door to its own Baby Garden, meaning that fresh air is always part of the daily routine, even in inclement weather. The Baby Garden has undergone a complete transformation this year: including the laying of a decked area, a shade canopy, play house and sensory herb garden, all making for a colourful and stimulating outdoor space. 

There is a sleep room adjoining the Baby Room, allowing staff to follow your baby’s own routine, plus a separate baby changing facility and separate kitchenette for the preparation of baby milks, bottles and weaning foods.

Little Toddlers 1 Year – 18 Months

The Little Toddlers Room has capacity for 9 young toddlers from the age of 1 year to 18 months on a ratio of care 1:3, with a Room Senior leading the team of staff. 

All toys provided are appropriate to the age and development of your Little Toddler. The Little Toddler Room has a sliding door to its own Little Toddler Garden, meaning that fresh air is always part of the daily routine, even in inclement weather.

There is a sleep room adjoining the Little Toddler Room, allowing your young toddler to continue his/her own routine, where applicable, plus a separate baby changing facility.

Big Toddlers 18 Months – 2 Years 

The Big Toddlers Room has capacity for 12 developing toddlers from the age of 18 months to 2 years on a ratio of care 1:3, with a Room Senior leading the team of staff. 

All toys provided are appropriate to the age and development of your Big Toddler. The Big Toddler Room is bright and spacious, creating a stimulating environment for play and learning. It has a sliding door to a large shared Play Garden meaning that fresh air is always part of the daily routine, even in inclement weather. The Play Garden is equipped with static activity play equipment secured on a safety surface, for exploration and adventure, plus many ride-on's to choose from! Big Toddlers also have access to a large grassed Garden, for a change of scenery for outdoor play. 

We encourage communal sleep time in the Big Toddler Room, enabling your developing toddler to recharge his/her batteries to join in more activities. There is a separate baby changing facility.

Magpies 2 – 3 Years

Magpies has capacity for 24 growing children from the age of 2 to 3 years on a ratio of care 1:4, with a Room Senior leading the team of staff. 

All toys provided are appropriate to the age and development of your growing child. The Magpies enjoy three indoor play and activity spaces, which are bright and spacious, creating a stimulating environment for play and learning. There is the main room for general play, reading, music and movement; the Role Play area for dress up (and doubles as sleep area) plus the Messy Room, which includes tables and chairs for art activities and a sandpit. The Play Garden is equipped with static activity play equipment secured on a safety surface, for exploration and adventure! Magpies also have access to a large grassed Garden, for a change of scenery for outdoor play. 

We arrange communal sleep time for those 2-3 year olds who still need to recharge their batteries and also have a separate toilet facility to assist and encourage potty training at their own pace.

School House 3 – 5 Years

The School House has capacity for 29 maturing children from the age of 3 to 5 years on a ratio of care 1:8, with a Room Senior leading the team of staff and a School Teacher who visits the nursery three times a week. 

All toys and equipment provided are appropriate to the age and development of your maturing child. The School House enjoys a network of indoor spaces, which are bright and spacious, creating a stimulating environment for play, activity and learning. The Conservatory provides a central hub for general play, reading, music and movement; the Role Play area encourages use of imagination and the Art Room encourages creativity. The School House has its own Play Garden, equipped with static activity play equipment secured on a safety surface, plus a Natural Garden for exploration and adventure! 

The School House has an adult-style toilet facility, to further develop maturing skills of our 3 to 5 year olds.

Catering

Happitots Day Nursery has its own chef, who purchases fresh, seasonal, produce daily and prepares and home-bakes all meals on-site. We take nutrition very seriously and offer 5-a-day for all full-day children. 

We operate a breakfast club, serving breakfast cereals, toast and fruit. Lunch consists of a nutritious main meal and dessert. High tea offers a range of healthy, filling snacks.  All meals are accompanied by water, juice or milk, upon request. We pride ourselves on being able to cater for all dietary requirements – just let us know when you enrol.
